Women’s Product Developer

Our client is one of the largest and most successful lifestyle fashion retailers in Australia offering a shopping experience like no other! They stock the hottest brands, the latest gear and accessories and employ a crew that live and breathe a culture that is unique to them.

Currently, they have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Women’s Product Developer to join their Women’s Buying Team, working in their brand new Brisbane CBD offices! You will be the liaison between the buying team and production team and be an important part of getting the new styles into their stores. To be successful in obtaining this role, you must have strong experience in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Follow the product lifecycle from development to delivery
  • Manage and record sampling process
  • Produce styling and artwork CADs and tech packs
  • Maintain garment and fabric/ trims library
  • Source and catalogue new fabrications and trims
  • Manage and communicate supplier capabilities
  • Manage and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, providing feedback on best sellers, range orders/ indents and new deliveries
  • Assist in sourcing new suppliers as required

You will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Fashion or Production, preferred, but not essential
  • Experience in a previous production position
  • Experience in garment construction
  • Working knowledge of technical construction for relevant categories – stretch and swimwear will be advantageous
  • Experience with overseas manufacturing and importing
  • Retail experience desirable
  • Knowledge of shipping and customs processes
  • Working knowledge of current trends
  • Thorough understanding of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong capability in negotiating costs and margins
  • The ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels (both written and verbal)
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Well rounded administrative skills
